FourPlans: Great Starter Plans, Part 2
Here’s another round of terrific plans for first-time buyers. What makes them so great? Modest square footages (they’re all under 1,700 square feet), bedrooms on one level (good for new parents), and easygoing open layouts. And don’t miss Part 1 of the series.
A side patio is integrated beautifully into this easy-living design, which offers plenty of open spaces and height without sacrificing functionality. The placement of the laundry and utility room near the kitchen ensures quiet for those in the bedrooms, as well as easy grocery unloading from the garage.
The open breakfast nook and family room form the heart of the plan, with the snack bar adding seating space. A tray ceiling, walk-in closet, compartmented toilet, and garden tub make the master suite a quiet retreat. Two more bedrooms and a full bath complete the plan. This handsome home may look like a straightforward two-bedroom design (plus a study), but look a little closer to appreciate the thoughtful details that elevate it above the ordinary. A decorative ceiling crowns the great room, with windows on either side of the fireplace. Windows and doors bring lots of light into the dining nook, and an angled snack bar adds extra seating. More smart touches include a large shower and two sinks in the master bathroom, extra storage in the garage, and a separate laundry room off the hall leading to the kitchen from the garage.
